The Good News begins with understanding that God created you.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The only way to explain the infinite complexity of design and precise operation of this universe is with an infinite, all-powerful being as its designer and creator.  The Bible tells us who that being is, God.  With that knowledge comes the realization that if we are created by God then we owe Him our allegiance and obedience.  It is that realization which incites our world to reject creation for evolution.  But you cannot eliminate God by refusing to believe in Him.  We all will face our Creator someday to give account of our actions..

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

From that beginning the Good News then takes us to some very bad news.  We don’t have to wait until judgment day to find out where we stand with God.  He has told us clearly in Scripture that we have betrayed our allegiance to Him and have disobeyed His laws.  Just a review through the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20, reveals how far we have broken God’s law.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

When you choose any activity, thing or person over worshiping God.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.

Making God into who you wanting Him to be instead of how He has revealed Himself in Scripture.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Ever say: “Oh my ——!”?  Then you’re guilty.

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Reserve one day of rest a week to worship God. The whole day, not just an hour.

Honor thy father and mother.

Thou shalt not kill.

Christ said even hating someone broke this commandment.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Christ said even looking in order to lust in your heart counts.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Ever lie? Be honest now!

 Thou shalt not covet.

The lie that says we’ll be happy if we have things. God calls it idolatry. (See first commandment)

If you examine yourself carefully by this list you will be forced to the conclusion that by God’s standards you, (like me) have broken nearly all, if not all of these commandments; and that is just ten of them!  So what is the penalty for these crimes?  Consider the following statements from God:

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. which is the second death.

Like the existence of God, many people refuse to believe that hell exists yet the Bible clearly teaches that it does.  Our unbelief does not change reality.  We must face it now or we will experience it forever.  So that leads me to some questions:  Do you believe these Bible statements about God, sin and hell?  If you do, then where do you stand with God?  If you were to die tonight, would you be in hell?  Does that concern you?  If it does, keep reading.

Now we are ready for the Good News!  The Good News is that while God’s justice demands a punishment for sin, He loves you so much He has provided a way for you to escape hell.  He Himself came to earth in a human body to take our punishment for us.  He lived a perfectly sinless life thus earning heaven.  He then allowed Himself to die in our place.  Again, consider what God says:

II Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

I Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

The best news is yet to come!  After making it possible for us to escape hell, God offers this escape to us as a free gift.  We could not pay enough, work hard enough, or be good enough to earn our way.  The only hope to receive salvation is to accept it by faith, or dependence upon Christ’s death in our place.

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There you have it.  The Good News that God offers you eternal life and forgiveness of sins through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.  Now you have a decision to make.  Will you accept this free gift by faith?  If you desire to, simply pray to God and confess that you are a sinner deserving of hell.  Then ask Him to forgive your sins and give you eternal like based on Christ’s death on the cross.

If you have just made this decision and believed in Christ, there is one more thing I would like you to do.  Would you please contact me through the phone, mail or email and let me know of your decision?  The Bible has much to say about your new life with Him and we would like to give you some information which will be a help to you.  Thank you for visiting our site!  God bless you!
